Baby J : 6 months old

I have successfully breastfed Baby J for the first 6 month.
Y-e-Y !
I felt blessed to be able to provide.
It’s time to slowly introduce solid food.

Being a first time parent, I would like to be part of his each milestone.
I was very excited to ‘cook’ his first meal.
After all the mummies chat, book reading & website reading,
I decided to cook him apple puree.

2-3 tsp of apple puree. Something new & different for baby J.
Look at his expression.
Priceless!
He’s learning to swallow. Slowly & gently.

I found it a lot of work to just prepare few table spoon of puree.
Sweating! (it was the sieving to get smooth puree)
Baby J started with 2 weeks of cereal and puree in between.
It was just a small meal during evening and the rest of the day fully mother's milk.
I compromised the idea of feeding puree at baby sitter’s place after some small talk with nanny.
It’s alright to give Baby J rice cereal after all it is baby food.
Same time, nanny also started to introduce porridge.
Mummy will offer puree when he's back home.

I gave him this. In Malaysia, Why Not relabeled it to their branding.

My happy baby enjoying rice & quinoa cereal (2nd March 13)

Daddy taking part too!

It's just too precious to remember all these moment, at least for me. :p

Errr... He dont really enjoyed sweet potato puree

Love avocado. Best baby first food
He opened his mouth asking for more.
This turned out to be his favorite food for now.

 He loves pumpkin puree.

Blueberries puree

Most of the feedings were merely for exposure purpose.
Objective was to lighten his taste bud and the servings were small.
Plus babies need additional nutrient from food, especially iron in mother's milk may not suffice for their accelerating growth.
I used pigeon feeding dish. Love it as there's special area
for grinding and feeding.
It comes with a spoon that clips snugly onto the inside of the lid for easy storage.
The spoon shape & size were just right to feed baby first food.

Baby, mummy is sorry. I did not do this on purpose.
You were tired & hungry & crying...
You SLEPT in the middle of your meal....
hhaahahaha...  cute nye..

Food introduced : apple, avocado, cereal, porridge, sweet potatoes,
pumpkin, blueberries, pear, plum,  millet.
Reference & guidance : books & Wholesomebabyfood

Highlights of the month :
Crawling forward
(surprisingly he did not crawl backwards)
Teething
Started solid food
Sleeping child during meal
Having fun with exersaucer & jumperoo
